Richard Guarasci

Dr. Richard Guarasci is a national leader in democratic and civic engagement as well as in undergraduate education. He is president emeritus of Wagner College, serving seventeen years as the College’s longest serving leader. He served as Board Chair of four major national higher education associations: the American Association of Colleges and Universities, Campus Compact, Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities, and New American Colleges and Universities. As a political scientist, his scholarship focuses on American politics, democracy and diversity. His most recent book is Neighborhood Democracy: Building Anchor Partnerships Between Colleges and Their Communities (Routledge, 2022). At present he is the co-founding principal of Presidential Partners, LLC, an executive leadership coaching consultancy.
